I have been an aircraft crew chief for 19 years, working on everything from a Cessna 172 to a Bombardier Global express intercontinental corporate jet.  For the past 10 years I have been working in a Bombardier completion center were we use many different 3M products.  The one item that stands out in my mind are the epoxies that we use.  The 3M epoxy that stands out in my mind is the DP line of 100 and 400 series epoxy.  I have adapted them to my hobby and building of giant scale remote controlled aircraft.  The epoxy is so versatile I use it anywhere from hinges to firewall mounts.

I keep tubes of 3M in my trailer for quick repairs at the field using the DP100.  This epoxy dries in 10 minutes. 

The complete 3M mixing  system includes a dispensing gun and mixing nozzle for PERFECT ratio mixing every time.  The trick to the nozzles is that it mixes the epoxy perfect every time and the gun plunger pushes out the perfect amount every time, you don’t need to worry about mixing the correct quantity or worry if you stirred it enough using 3M’s system.

THE STARTER KIT

 The 3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Epoxy Adhesives glue kit, contains (1) applicator gun, (10) mix nozzles, and (2) glue cartridges. The glue cartridges available in the kit are the DP 420 and the DP 460. Please specify if you would like one of each or two of one of the DP 420 or DP 460. Also available are replacement glue cartridges, extra applicator guns and nozzle packs. NOTE: EPX plus II applicator gun comes with a 2:1 and 1:1 plunger so there is no need to purchase a separate plunger.

THE EPOXIES

3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Epoxy Adhesive DP100 Clear Duo-Pak 
A Fast Setting, Room Temperature Curing, Two-Part Adhesive for Bonding a Variety of Materials Like Metals, Ceramics, Wood and Many Plastics.
It has a 1:1 mix ratio. It permits application on many vertical surfaces. Features: Fast cure adhesive with a 5 minute work life, and develops handling strength in approximately 15 minutes. It's low viscosity allows easy dispensing and is ideal for filleting and potting.

3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Epoxy Adhesive DP100NS (NON SAG) Translucent Duo-Pak
A non-sag, translucent version of 3M™ Scotch-Weld™ DP-100 Adhesive with a 1:1 mix ratio. Permits application on many vertical surfaces.
Features: Fast cure 5 min. adhesive. Rigid epoxy.

3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Epoxy Adhesive DP100FR White Duo-Pak
A fast setting, room temperature curing, flame retardant, two-part adhesive for bonding a variety of materials, such as many metals, ceramics, wood and many plastics. It meets UL94VO burn test requirements, has a 1:1 mix ratio, and has a work life of 5 - 8 minutes. Ideal for High Heat areas of Jet Aircraft ,Cowl rings, Wing tube sockets etc. Will not sag when applied to vertical surfaces.

3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Epoxy Adhesive DP125 Translucent Duo-Pak
Two-part epoxy adhesive with a 1:1 mix ratio, 25 minute work life and exhibits very high peel strength. Cures at room temperature. Use to bond rubber, metal, wood, plastics and masonry products. Great for airplane canopies.

3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Epoxy Adhesive DP190 Translucent Gray Duo-Pak
A two-part adhesive that cures at room temperature and provides high strength bonds with good performance in shear and peel. Has a 90 minute work life. Can be used to bond rubber, metal, wood, most plastics and masonry products.

3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Epoxy Adhesive DP420 Off-White Duo-Pak
A high performance, two-part epoxy adhesive offering outstanding shear and peel adhesion, and very high levels of durability. This adhesive has controlled flow, a 2:1 mix ratio, a 20-30 minute work life, and develops handling strength in 1-2 hours. Ideal for Hinging, Cowl rings, Wing tube sockets etc.

3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Epoxy Adhesive DP460 Off-White Duo-Pak
A high performance two-part epoxy adhesive for bonding a wide variety of substrates with outstanding levels of reliability and durability. Toughened to provide high peel and shear strength. This adhesive has controlled flow, a 2:1 mix ratio, a 60 minute work life. Ideal for Hinging, Cowl rings, Wing tube sockets etc.

THE APPLICATOR

 The EPX Plus II Applicator is used to dispense 3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Epoxy Adhesives in duo-pak cartridges. The applicator is a low-cost portable, self contained metering, mixing and dispensing machine that simultaneously meters and mixes two-part adhesives as the material is applied.
